Your Short Break Cycling Holiday starts in Albufeira, a city with deep-rooted fishing traditions, where you will spend the first night. The second night is booked in Faro, the capital of the Algarve. Here, you can explore its main attractions, including the historic old town, the Lethes Theatre, the Carmo Church, and enjoy the typical Algarve cuisine, recognised as UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage. The third and fourth nights are spent in Tavira, one of the most charming cities in the Algarve, famous for its 37 historic churches and its renowned octopus-based gastronomy.
The three cycling stages lead you along quiet backroads and secondary roads, riding from the coastal towns where you stay overnight into the rural countryside, through valleys and up to the tops of rolling hills.

On the first stage, you cycle towards Faro via Salir and Alte, a village known for its whitewashed houses, charming fountains and reputation as one of the most authentic and unspoilt villages in the region.

During the second stage, you pass through São Brás de Alportel, with the opportunity to visit a traditional cork factory, continue through the small village of Cachopo, and ride past several peaceful rural settlements.

The third stage takes you to Vila Real de Santo António, known as the “Enlightenment City”, then to Castro Marim, rich in medieval heritage, and onwards to Alcoutim, beautifully located on the banks of the Guadiana River, along with many other small villages.
