Your Short Break starts in Faro where you’ll spend the first night. Explore the capital of the Algarve and its attractions. The beautiful old town, the ancient Lethes theatre, the Carmo Church and the typical Algarve cuisine (UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage) are a few highlights of the city. The second and third night is booked in Tavira, one of the prettiest cities of the Algarve. Tavira is known by its many historic churches (37!) and also by the typical Algarve cuisine, with octopus specialities.
The 2 stages lead you by backroads through marvellous scenarios, riding from the coastal cities where you spend the nights to the countryside, by the valleys to the top of the hills. In the first stage you will pass by São Brás de Alportel, having the opportunity to visit the famous Cork factory, by the little village of Cachopo and by many small villages. The second stage will take you to Vila Real de Sto António (called as the “Enlightenment City”), to Castro Marim, known by its medieval culture, to Alcoutim, situated just in the Guadiana River banks and to many small villages.
In this Short Break you have the opportunity to experiment several products and costumes of the region, see historical sights, admire the natural environment, ride through beautiful backroads through the mountains and mingle with the locals. Certainly an experience you don’t want to miss!
