Cycling Path Danube: Classic Version Passau – Vienna - 7 nights | 6 stages
Day 1 - Passau
Individual arrival in Passau. Handover of travel documents. The rental bikes (if booked) stand ready prepared in your arrival hotel.
Individual sightseeing in Passau (historic center, cathedral St. Stephan, corner of 3 rivers, castle Veste Oberhaus). We recommend going on a 3-rivers-boat tour through Passau (runs daily, every 30 minutes, from 10 a.m. to 17 p.m.)

Day 2 - Wesenufer / Schlögen (40 / 60 km)
From Passau via Obernzell and cycle past the power station Jochenstein to Engelhartszell (Trappist monastery) along the riverbank to Wesenufer and to Aschach, past the well known Schlögener Schlinge.
Cat. A: Overnight at the 4* Wesenufer hotel or in equivalent.
Cat. B: Overnight at the 3* hotel.
Day 3 - Linz (56 / 30 km)
Through the Schlögener Schlinge past the uninhabited Engtal valley near Kaiserau to Aschach (baroque market). Then on through the rich Eferding basin and into the town of the same name via Wilhering (rococo church with a thousand angel figures) and Ottensheim to Linz.

Cat. B: Overnight at the 3* or 4* hotel.
Day 4 - Wallsee / Au (45 / 30 km)
Today you cycle along the Danube cycle path through the Machland region. Past Steyregg and the Abwinden power station to Mauthausen. Then on to the day's destination in Au or via Mitterkirchen to Wallsee.
Cat. A: Overnight 4* hotel Wallseerhof or equivalent.
Cat. B: Overnight 3* hotel or equivalent in Au.
Day 5 - Maria Taferl / Pöchlarn (50 / 67 km)
Through the Strudengau with the romantic Hössgang to Ybbs and to the day's destination, the second largest place of pilgrimage in Austria or Pöchlarn.
Cat. A: Overnight at the 4* hotel Rose or equivalent.
Cat. B: Overnight at the 3* hotel or equivalent.
Day 6 - Krems/Traismauer (54 / 67 km)
On the cycling path to Melk (impressive abbey) and further in the famous wine-growing region Wachau. There you pass the villages Spitz and Weißenkirchen and Dürnstein (old town, castle ruins) before it gets to the day`s destination Krems (UNESCO-world heritage) or Traismauer.
Cat. A: Overnight at the 4* hotel Arte in Krems or equivalent.
Cat. B: Overnight at the 3* hotel.
Shorten the tour is possible by Wachau boat trip, e.g. from Spitz (from 11:40 a.m.) or Dürnstein (from 12:30 p.m.) to Krems, arrival approx. 12:50 p.m. (minor timetable changes possible).
Day 7 - Vienna (80 / 70 km)
The cycle route continues to the flower town of Tulln through the foothills of the Vienna Woods past Klosterneuburg (abbey) to Vienna. The world metropolis offers a variety of sights (St Stephen's Cathedral, Ringstrasse, palace, Schönbrunn Zoo, Prater, Danube Tower, Belvedere Palace).
The cycle route can be shortened by train (all connections every half hour): from Krems to Tulln (approx. € 12.70 on site); or from Tulln (approx. € 10.80 on site) or from Klosterneuburg (approx. € 4.60 on site) to Vienna.

Day 8 - end of cycle trip
Booking of additional nights or journey home.
